Commissioner inspected the pre-monsoon drain cleaning campaign

Raipur. The cleaning of drains and sewers in the capital city municipal corporation area is continuously progressing at a fast pace before the monsoon by the health and 10 zones of Municipal Corporation Raipur.

Today, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abinash Mishra inspected the pre-monsoon cleaning campaign of the big drain near Durga Maidan Shankar Nagar under Shankar Nagar Ward No. 30 of Zone 3 in the presence of Corporation Health Officer Dr. Tripti Panigrahi, Zone Health Officer of Zone 3, Mr. Umesh Namdev. The Commissioner has directed that the Zone Health Officers of all the zones should monitor and ensure that all the drains and sewers of the municipal corporation area are cleaned thoroughly before the monsoon. So that there is no problem of water logging in the city.

The Commissioner directed the officers to take special care during the cleaning of drains and sewers so that polythene foil etc. should not remain in the drains. The drainage system gets obstructed due to their getting stuck. Therefore, if polythene foil is seen stuck in drains, sewers, ensure that it is cleaned and taken out immediately so that the polythene does not obstruct the drainage system during rain.
