A public awareness campaign will be run for the protection and promotion of mother cow
-The cow sanctuaries to be built in the state will be known as Gau-Dham
-Gau-Dham is being built in 50 acres in Jhalam of Bemetara and 120 acres in Kawardha
Raipur 02 December 2024: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has announced to increase the amount of grant given to cow shelters per cattle from Rs 25 to Rs 35. He said that there is a need to run a public awareness campaign in Chhattisgarh for the protection and promotion of mother cow. Chief Minister Sai was addressing the ceremony of taking charge of the newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Gau Seva Commission, Visheshwar Singh Patel, at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in the capital Raipur today.
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai congratulated and wished the newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Gau Seva Commission, Visheshwar Patel, on getting the new responsibility and felicitated him. The Chief Minister also visited the stalls of cow products set up on this occasion. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma were also present at the function.
Chief Minister Sai said that cow mother is a symbol of our prosperity. It is believed that 33 crore deities reside in cow mother. The Chief Minister said that it would be appropriate to call the cow sanctuary as Gau-Dham. The state government has decided to build Gau-Dham at various places. Gau-Dham is ready in 50 acres in Jhalam of Bemetara district, it will be inaugurated soon. Similarly, the work of building Gau-Dham in 120 acres in Kawardha district is going on at a fast pace. Chief Minister Sai said that the state government is working to promote milk production in the state and strengthen the Devbhog brand of Chhattisgarh. The state government will try to ensure that cow mother remains safe. Strict steps are being taken to ban cow smuggling and cow slaughter.
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao said that cows are an integral part of our agricultural economy. For their protection and promotion, it is necessary that we make a place for cows in our homes and do cow rearing.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that there is Vishnu’s good governance in the state. Strict action is being taken against those involved in PSC scams and corruption. The state government will make animal husbandry a means of economic progress of society and family on the lines of Amul of Gujarat.
The newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Gau Seva Commission, Visheshwar Singh Patel, elaborated on the functions and future plans of the commission. On this occasion, former minister Nanki Ram Kanwar, Saint Ram Balak Das, Saint Rajiv Lochan Ji Maharaj, Acharya Rakesh, Didi Pragya Bharti, Sadhvi Girijesh Nandini, Pawan Sai, Rampratap Singh, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Backward Class Commission Nehru Nishad, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Waqf Board Salim Raj, Registrar of State Gau Seva Commission Dr. Sameer Sharma were also present.
