Chhatarpur to Host Madhya Pradesh’s First Ever Driving Training Centre

Bhopal (Driving Training Centre): Madhya Pradesh is all set to launch its first Driving Training Centre in Chhatarpur district. This month, three separate teams from the Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT), Pune, will visit the center for technical evaluation, financial assessment, and supervision. Driving Certificate Will Be Issued from the Centre Once CIRT gives the green signal, the Tapasya Sai Baba Jan Kalyan Shiksha Prasad Samiti will start operating the training center under the supervision of the Transport Department. After successful completion of training, the center will issue certificates, based on which the RTO will grant permanent driving licenses. A More Transparent and Efficient Licensing Process This new system aims to streamline and improve the process of issuing driving licenses. According to Dr. R.K. Chaturvedi, the director of the committee, the Chhatarpur center is already complete. The Regional Driving Training Centre (RDTC) has been built on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

Objective: Reducing Road Accidents The 5.5-acre training center was built with an investment of over ₹6 crore, with support from the central government. The main goal of these centers is to reduce road accidents by ensuring that only well-trained drivers receive licenses. The CIRT’s approval from Pune is awaited, and operations are expected to begin within the next two months. Bhopal Centre is 60% Complete Another Regional Driving Training Centre (RDTC) is under construction in Bhopal, at Bangarsia on 5.5 acres of land. The state government has invested ₹5.5 crore, and an additional ₹92 lakh is being contributed by a relevant agency. Bhopal’s center is expected to open within this year. Apart from this, a new RDTC will also be developed in Betul. Driving Training Centres to Open in Three More Districts Madhya Pradesh is also establishing District Driving Training Centres (DDTC) in Satna, Damoh, and Singrauli. Additionally, a DTC is planned for Panna. If this pilot project succeeds, RDTCs and DDTCs will be set up in all districts across the state. In the future, Regional and District Transport Officers (RTOs/DTOs) will issue permanent driving licenses based on training certificates obtained from these centers. This initiative aims to improve road safety and create better-trained drivers across Madhya Pradesh.
