Chamoli Avalanche: All Missing Workers Found Dead, Rescue Operation Concludes

The bodies of all four missing workers from the avalanche near Mana village in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, were recovered today. With this, the rescue operation has officially concluded. The tragic incident has claimed the lives of eight workers, while 46 others were successfully rescued.

Recovery of Missing Workers’ Bodies

The four missing workers’ bodies were found today, bringing the total death toll to eight. A total of 54 workers had been trapped under the snow.

Identities of the Deceased Workers

The recovered workers were from different states, including Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh:

  • Anil Kumar (21) – Son of Ishwari Datt, Thakur Nagar, Rudrapur, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand.
  • Ashok (28) – Son of Rampal, Ganghol, Benao, Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh.
  • Harmesh (30) – Son of Gyan Chandra, Kuthar, Una, Himachal Pradesh.
  • Arvind (43) – Son of Devendra Kumar, Gokul Dham, Bhagat Niwas, New Colony, Clement Town, Dehradun.

Chamoli Avalanche: How the Disaster Unfolded

Due to heavy rainfall, an avalanche struck near Mana village in Chamoli, trapping 54 workers who were engaged in construction work. The rescue team managed to save 46 of them, but unfortunately, eight workers lost their lives.

With the recovery of the last four bodies, the rescue operation has now been officially completed. More than 200 personnel from the Army, ITBP, BRO, SDRF, and NDRF were deployed for the operation, along with four army helicopters.
