Bulldozer roared in Khandwa: Big action on illegal encroachments, 98 out of 137 houses demolished

These days the administration’s bulldozer is constantly roaring in Madhya Pradesh. The campaign against encroachment has now reached Khandwa, where heavy administrative action was seen on Thursday in the Shakkar Talab area. Declaring a total of 137 houses illegal, the work of demolishing them began here. So far 98 houses have been razed to the ground and action is going on against the rest.
The administration arrived early in the morning, started action with heavy force and machines As soon as the commotion increased in Khandwa’s Shakkar Talab area on Thursday morning, people understood that the administration has decided to take a big step. For this action, 10 JCB machines, 4 Poklane, 3 fire tenders, 10 dumpers and 3 ambulances were arranged. The administration, already alert about the action, had also deployed heavy police force to avoid any untoward incident. To prevent tension from spreading in the area, the entire area was cordoned off from all sides and all roads were under surveillance of security personnel.During this time, notices were already given to the people living in the houses identified by the administration. Despite this, some people could not vacate the house and the JCB’s claw kept on demolishing their houses in front of them.
Administration strict on illegal encroachments, but questions also ariseOn this action of Khandwa, the administration clearly says that all the houses that are being demolished were built by illegal occupation. In the Shakkar Talab area, illegal construction on land had increased rapidly for some time and people had built houses without any approval. However, some questions are also being raised about this campaign of the administration. Local people are asking that if this was encroachment, then how was this construction going on for years? Did the responsible officers not know then?
Some people are also calling it a politically motivated action, while the administration is calling it only and only following the law. However, the troubles of the families whose houses have been destroyed have just begun. Those who are left without a roof over their heads are now moving towards temporary shelters or relatives’ houses.
The bulldozer journey continues, is this just the beginning?
For some time now, bulldozer action in Madhya Pradesh is being seen as a strict administrative decision. Similar actions have been taken in many districts before Khandwa and the administration has made it clear that illegal encroachments will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Now it remains to be seen in which areas such action reaches in the future and whether the administration deals with the same preparation and sensitivity every time or not.
One thing has definitely come to light from this entire incident that if you have built a house without valid documents or approval, then it will not be safe in the future. Therefore, it is better to take legal advice before any construction.
