Bijapur Sports Academy players selected for 6th Khelo India Youth Games 2023
Raipur. The 6th Khelo India Games 2023 will be organized in Tamil Nadu from 19 January 2024 to 31 January 2024. Janaki Korsa, Bindu Telam and Jyoti Kudiam of Bijapur Sports Academy have been selected to represent Chhattisgarh women’s football team for the Khelo India Youth Games.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai praised the talent of the football players of Bijapur Sports Academy and extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to them on their selection for the Khelo India Youth Games. He has said that the selection of Janaki Korsa, Bindu Tailam and Jyoti Kudiyam is a matter of pride for Chhattisgarh.
It is noteworthy that in the year 2023, in the Hero Junior Girls Football Championship held in Guwahati, Assam, Chhattisgarh women’s team had reached the quarter finals under the leadership of Jyoti Yadav, Football National Coach of (BSA). In this Junior Girls Championship, 04 players of Bijapur Sports Academy have represented the state of Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh women’s football team has qualified for Khelo India Youth Games 2023 due to its excellent performance in the Junior Girls Championship. Chhattisgarh team will leave for Tamil Nadu from Raipur on 17 January 2024.
Football players of Bijapur Sports Academy have earlier represented Chhattisgarh state in Khelo India Tribal National Championship (Bhubaneswar, Orissa) and won gold medal by defeating a strong team like Jharkhand.
Union Sports and Information Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur also praised the talent of the football players of Bijapur Sports Academy. With a view to showcase the talent of the players from the vulnerable areas across the country, a commendable institution in the form of Bijapur Sports Academy is being established and run by the district administration. Jyoti Yadav (NIS) is providing high level training to the players in the football game. Bijapur District Collector Mr. Anurag Pandey extended his hearty greetings and wished for excellent performance and a bright future in the upcoming matches. On this occasion, Deputy Collector Shri Dilip Uike and District Sports Officer congratulated and congratulated the players.
