Best practices should become the identity of district cooperative banks: Minister Shri Sarang

Bhopal: Cooperative Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang has said that the best conduct of officers and employees should become the identity of the district cooperative bank. Its good work should be marketed. Online training should be conducted for the conduct and behavior of the employees of every bank. He said that there should be competition at every level of the bank for innovation and good work and the best employee should also be honored at the end of the year. Minister Shri Sarang was addressing the meeting of Chief Executive Officers of District Cooperative Banks in Samanvay Bhavan on Saturday.

Focus on strengthening cooperative banks

Minister Shri Sarang said that cooperative banks will have to work for their credibility. Transparency will have to be brought in it and it will have to be ensured that the deposits in the bank are completely safe. The bank will have to focus on strengthening itself along with regular work like recovery etc. Work will have to be done in matters of giving deposits, term loans, safe loans. He said that the work-behavior of the bank employees, communication and the atmosphere of the bank should be positive. Take the work as a challenge. We will have to move forward by working towards bringing the weak banks to good level and not making the good ones weak.

Cooperative banks should work with a professional approach

Minister Shri Sarang said that local public representatives should be informed about defaulting farmers so that they can motivate them to repay the loan. Along with the collector, communication should also be established with the revenue staff, so that government staff can also connect with the cooperative bank through coordination and cooperation. Minister Shri Sarang said that the bank should work with a professional approach. Online training of 2-3 employees of every PEC should be conducted. He said that recovery cases should be resolved in 2-3 months. There should not be a long process for this, speed up the work. Minister Shri Sarang said that work should be done for the development and upliftment of weak PECs. They should be strengthened by classification. There should be PECs in every Panchayat, new PECs should be made multipurpose. Cooperation of departments related to cooperation should be taken. He said that a federation is also being formed for the new society.

Minister Shri Sarang said that there should be orientation programs on cooperatives in colleges through Sahakar Sabha. There should be 100 percent audit in banks, there should not be a single backlog. Innovations and good work of every bank should be publicized, for this success stories should be sent to the headquarters through WhatsApp group, so that people are aware through mediums like social media.

Cooperative banks play an important role in leading agricultural development

Additional Chief Secretary Cooperatives Mr. Ashok Barnwal said that cooperative banks have an important role in taking agricultural development to the next level. For this, attention will have to be paid to increasing business by strengthening PACs. PACs will have to be made multipurpose. Development plans for business opportunities will have to be designed. The use of micro ATMs will have to be increased. Cooperative banks should increase their services so that customers can be facilitated by easy transactions.

Commissioner Cooperative and Registrar Mr. Manoj Pushp told about the objectives of the meeting. He informed that the meeting is held every month and along with district level monitoring, attention is also paid to credit movement.

Apex Bank Managing Director Mr. Manoj Gupta said that on the International Cooperative Year, as per the wishes of the Cooperative Minister, every Panchayat should be made a member of the committee and “Cooperative Assembly” should be organized in every Panchayat and people’s representatives should be invited to it and those doing excellent work should be honored. This will connect more and more people with cooperative banks and the central government’s resolution of “Prosperity through cooperation” will also be implemented.

Deputy Secretary Cooperative Mr. Manoj Sinha said that only those farmers who are members will be able to get fertilizer from PACS. Deputy General Manager Mr. R.S. Chandel threw light on the use of micro ATM. Chartered Accountant Mr. Amulya Rahanekar guided on various technical information to be careful in the financial functioning of Apex Bank, District Bank and Committees under the guidelines of Reserve Bank and Nabard. The meeting was conducted by Deputy General Manager Mr. K.T. Sajjan and Manager Mr. Karun Yadav.

Ambrish Vaidya, Arun Mishra, Arvind Bauddh, R.M. Mishra and Ms. Kriti Saxena also gave guidance on other important topics in the meeting. Some video clippings on various topics of innovation were also shown in the meeting. Officials of Cooperative Department, Apex Bank and 38 District Banks were present in the meeting.
