The Bangladesh cricket team has created history by defeating Pakistan in a Test match in its own home. This is the first overall win of the Bangladesh team against Pakistan in Test history. A 2-match Test series is being played between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
The first match was held in Rawalpindi between 21 and 25 August, in which Bangladesh won by 10 wickets. In this first Test, Pakistan declared the innings after scoring 448 runs for 6 wickets in the first innings. Then Bangladesh scored 565 runs in the first innings and took a lead of 117 runs.
The captain and management could not understand the pitch
Before this Test, there was news that Pakistan had prepared a pitch helpful for fast bowlers in Rawalpindi for the match. This was also the reason that captain Shan Masood, coach and team management believed in it and fielded 4 fast bowlers in the match. Whereas there were 6 spinners in the Bangladesh team and they turned the match around. The pitch helped the spinners a lot on the fourth and fifth day, especially on the fifth day.
After losing the match, Shan Masood said that the pitch did not play as we thought. This seems like a childish statement. Maybe he should say that he made a mistake in reading the pitch. If the Pakistan team had understood the pitch properly and given a place to a specialist spinner in the team, then perhaps the result of the match could have been different.
