Agniveer Recruitment: Over 50% of Candidates from Gwalior, Bhind, and Morena

Gwalior (Agniveer Recruitment). The excitement and eagerness to wear the Indian Army uniform are still at an all-time high among the youth in the Gwalior-Chambal region. Even though the Agniveer program lasts for just four years, the passion for joining the army remains strong among young people here. This enthusiasm is evident as more than 50 percent of the candidates participating in the physical examinations for Agniveer recruitment are from Gwalior, Bhind, and Morena, highlighting the region’s commitment. A large number of candidates arrived from these three districts, showcasing their determination to join the army, undeterred by the harsh winter conditions. Many arrived in Sagar a day early for the physical tests and began their preparations at 2 AM. While only a few hundred candidates from other districts are participating, the candidates from Gwalior and Chambal number in the thousands.

Morena has the highest number of candidates, followed by Bhind, and then Gwalior. The physical examinations began on August 6 and will continue until August 12, with a total of 8,914 candidates participating over the seven days. These candidates come from various districts, including Gwalior, Shivpuri, Bhind, Morena, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, and Sheopur. Among the 8,914 candidates, 2,404 are from Morena, making it the district with the most participants. Bhind follows with 1,829 candidates, while Gwalior contributes 857 candidates, along with 624 youths from Shivpuri. Due to the high number of candidates from Morena, their physical examinations were conducted over three days, while those from Bhind had their tests over two days. Sheopur had the fewest candidates, with only 79 appearing. In addition, 270 candidates came from Niwari, 549 from Sagar, 261 from Chhatarpur, and 288 from Tikamgarh. 1,495 candidates successfully passed the physical examination over five days, with around 1,100 of them coming from Gwalior, Shivpuri, Bhind, and Morena.

Candidates expressed that wearing the army uniform, even for a single day, is a matter of great pride. Anoop Singh Tomar from Bhind, who participated in the physical exams, mentioned that his medical examination is still pending. He shared with Naiduniya that even getting the army uniform for just one day is a point of pride. Yaduveer Singh from Gwalior added that despite the four-year duration of the Agniveer program, he believes a percentage of Agniveers will be retained permanently, and he is confident that he will be among them.Today, the Agniveer Technical candidates will be taking their exams. The exams for the Agniveer General Duty candidates have already been completed. On January 11, in addition to the 969 General Duty candidates from Morena, the exams for Office Assistant and Tradesman candidates from all districts also took place. Now, the focus shifts to the Agniveer Technical candidates, who will be having their exams on January 12.
