A network of cooperative societies will be laid in all the more than 11 thousand panchayats of the state

Raipur. On the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the concept of ‘Prosperity through cooperation’ is going to be realized. For this, a concrete strategy is being prepared by the state government to strengthen the cooperative movement. In this episode, to strengthen the rural economy, a network of cooperative societies will be laid in all the more than 11 thousand 600 gram panchayats of the state. In compliance with the instructions given by Union Home and Cooperative Minister Shri Amit Shah during his visit to Chhattisgarh, Secretary of Cooperative Department Dr. C. R. Prasanna and Shri Kuldeep Sharma, Commissioner of Cooperation and Registrar Cooperative Societies Chhattisgarh reviewed the action plan made on ‘Prosperity through cooperation’ by holding a meeting of departmental officials including the concerned departments in the auditorium of Apex Bank located in Nava Raipur on Wednesday and gave necessary guidelines. In the meeting, Secretary Dr. Prasanna and Commissioner Kuldeep Sharma provided information of Pax, Fisheries Committee and Milk Committees panchayat wise and also instructed to identify and activate the active and inactive committees. He said that new committees should be formed in those Gram Panchayats where there is no committee. He said that in the coming six months or one and a half year targets should be set and work should be done to strengthen Pax and increase the facilities of multi-activity in these Pax. He said that by developing Pax as multi-purpose Pax, many facilities will be available to the people at their doorstep. This will save the time and money of farmers, poor and labourers. Secretary Dr. Prasanna said that the time for purchase of the upcoming Kharif crop is coming near. Therefore, it is mandatory to audit the old works of all the committees. At present there are 2058 cooperative societies and 2739 paddy procurement centers. New committees should be formed in such Gram Panchayats or places where the distance is more. He reviewed the progress of Kisan Credit Card and Rupay Credit Card and directed to benefit maximum number of farmers of the state from this scheme. While reviewing the National Cooperative Database, he directed the officers to update the database of all the committees.

In the meeting, Secretary Dr. Prasanna and Commissioner Shri Kuldeep Sharma also obtained information about various schemes including Vishwa Anna Bhandaar Yojana, Indian Seed Cooperative Society, National Cooperative Export Committee, Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra, Common Service Center and the status of e-Districts Service. As far as possible, accounts of all cooperative institutions should be opened in the District Cooperative Central Bank, so that the overall development of cooperatives can be ensured.
