Raipur. Women from Bastar to Surguja region will no longer need to go to Panghat to fill water for their domestic use, nor will they be forced to drink water from Jhiriya. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has guaranteed to provide tap water to every house. Work on this is going on rapidly. For this, a provision of Rs 4 thousand 5 hundred crore has been kept in the budget of Chhattisgarh government.

Jal Jeevan Mission has been started across the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide clean water to every household. Under this mission, 55 liters of tap water will be provided to every family for their daily needs. This campaign is being completed rapidly in Chhattisgarh. Tap water is reaching 49.98 lakh houses in the state. Under this mission, the work of providing tap water to 75 percent of the houses is being done successfully. Work is going on rapidly to provide tap water to the remaining 25 percent houses.

Jal Jeevan Mission is a revolutionary campaign to fulfill the resolve of a developed India. Children’s health will be protected through this mission. There will be relief from water borne diseases occurring in children and adults. At the same time, women will also get more time for their household work. Women will be able to use this time for their economic activities.

Villagers are happy with the availability of pure drinking water in many villages of Bastar and Surguja region. Pure drinking water is being provided to the villagers at every door. Jashpur resident Mr. Manohar Toppo said that earlier there was a big problem of water in this village. The people here had to struggle a lot to get water and had to get it from a hand pump well located far away from their house. Many times, when the hand pump broke down and there was no water in the well, one had to walk several kilometers to get drinking water. But today, under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme, pure drinking water has started reaching people’s homes. Shri Toppo has thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai.

The villagers, especially the women, of Sautpur Gram Panchayat of Bastar district are now happy that the availability of drinking water has been ensured in every house of their village. Regarding this, Maina Kashyap, the young sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Sautpur, says that everyone in every locality of the village is getting water, due to which there is an atmosphere of prosperity in the entire village.
