Business news: Market rises due to buying of banking shares

There was big volatility in the domestic stock market on Friday. Market’s major benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty strengthened after a sluggish start and closed with gains. On the last trading day of the week, the Sensex closed at 71,595 with a gain of 167 points. At the same time, Nifty rose 64 points to 21,782. Buying was seen in banking sector shares during Friday’s trading session. Along with this, shares of FMCG and financial sector were also seen trading in the green mark. Selling was seen in auto and metal sector shares. Earlier on Thursday, the Sensex had slipped 723 points and closed at the level of 71,428.
