Dharmendra Pradhan interacted with more than 100 entrepreneurs
Delhi. Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan interacted with more than 100 entrepreneurs. These entrepreneurs have been trained through various skill development institutes like National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) and under the flagship scheme of Skill India – Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY). These schemes are in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a country of employment creators.
While interacting with these entrepreneurs, Dharmendra Pradhan said that this is the first time that entrepreneurs from the skill ecosystem have been given the honor of being guests at the Republic Day celebrations. This is proof of the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Dharmendra Pradhan also said that it was truly inspiring to see his journey from entrepreneurship to self-reliance. He said that these small and micro entrepreneurs are ready to make a new contribution in the development journey of the country. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and his government for being dedicated to the poor and the underprivileged in every sector, from food and shelter to essential areas like comprehensive skill development and socio-economic security. He stressed that empowering the deprived and weaker sections of the society is the basic foundation of this government and the common citizens are the firm priority of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Dharmendra Pradhan appreciated and encouraged the entrepreneurs for vocational training. These entrepreneurs are ushering in a new dawn in the skill development and entrepreneurship ecosystem in India.
Chairman of the National Council of Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) Nirmaljit Singh Kalsi, Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) Atul Kumar Tiwari and Director General of the Directorate General of Training (DGT) Smt. Trishaljit Sethi were also present at the event.
During the event, entrepreneurs shared how skill training under the Skill India Mission has been helpful in enhancing their capabilities, problem-solving abilities and making their products unique and different from others in marketing them. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship for providing them on-the-job training and invaluable industry experience, further empowering them to transform their lives and turn their aspirations into tangible realities.
Some entrepreneurs were also invited on the stage to share their experiences, give insight into the challenges and elaborate on how they have been able to convert their trials into opportunities with appropriate skill training under the Skill India Mission. Sheetal Tamang, a woman entrepreneur from Upper Gom, South Sikkim, explains how she is reshaping the development path of the country through her enterprise – Sikkim Handlooms and Handicrafts. With 20 employees under his leadership, Tamang’s commitment is reflected in changing his own and his employees’ lives. This is a credible testament to his entrepreneurial spirit.
Similarly, the bold steps taken by entrepreneurs like Inderjit Sadhukhan have been appreciated for being inspirational to aspiring entrepreneurs. He set up a business in 2020 after completing a course in refrigeration and air conditioning. Another entrepreneur, Mr. Sanjeet demonstrated extraordinary resilience and determination by establishing Shree Electrical in 2021 and achieving success through skill development amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Odisha-based female entrepreneur Jyotirmayee Sahu shared her inspiring story. He pursued a course in Mushroom Grower Entrepreneurship with a proactive approach towards self-empowerment and started a venture in mushroom farming. Jyotirmayi Sahu’s startup flourished within six months and achieved remarkable success.
Driven by the vision of making the entrepreneurship ecosystem more productive, accessible and holistic with a focus on the new era, Industry 4.0 and advanced technologies, a number of schemes have been launched to empower entrepreneurs, students and other beneficiaries. Are going. To acquire relevant knowledge and skills that are in line with the rapidly evolving needs of industries, schemes like PM Vishwakarma and a comprehensive digital platform – Skill India Digital (SID) have been launched. This will develop a range of entrepreneurial skills such as leadership, creative thinking, teamwork and business development to bridge the gap between education and industry. India will move from having the third largest start-up ecosystem to becoming the number one in the next few years.
Entrepreneurs from different parts of the country including Odisha, Kerala, Sikkim, Manipur, Delhi, West Bengal, Telangana and other states participated in the Republic Day Parade today. They represent many industries such as beauty and wellness, handmade products, tailoring, sewing machine operation and computer use.
Recognizing that skilling India’s youth is critical to the startup ecosystem, MSDE’s initiative is geared towards creating an enabling environment to promote growth, employment generation, productivity and efficiency for the betterment of society.
