Idols of Lord Ganesha, Maa Durga and Mahalaxmi should be made of clay only: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Monday launched the ‘Mati Ganesh-Siddh Ganesh’ campaign run by Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad at Samatva Bhavan in the Chief Minister’s residence. On this occasion, he said that by worshipping Lord Ganesha, a person attains knowledge, wisdom and Riddhi-Siddhi. May Lord Ganesha fulfill everyone’s wishes. May the blessings of the kind God shower on all of us and may our state be filled with happiness and prosperity. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav told the officials of the Jan Abhiyan Parishad that the idols of Lord Ganesha, Maa Durga during Navratri and Mahalakshmi on the festival of Deepawali should also be made of clay. An awareness campaign should also be run for this. He said that clay idols get absorbed in the soil itself, this does not cause any harm to the environment. The objective of this campaign is to promote environmental protection and to encourage the people to use Ganesh idols made of sacred soil and cow dung on Ganesh Chaturthi festival, so that the cleanliness of water sources is maintained and the natural balance also remains intact.

“Mati Ganesh-Siddh Ganesh Abhiyan” is an innovative initiative for environmental protection. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also released an illustrated poster focusing on the concept inherent in the campaign. The council will launch the ‘Mati Ganesh-Siddh Ganesh Abhiyan’, an innovative initiative for environmental protection. In this campaign, environment friendly institute Narmada Samagra will train the new Sakhis associated with the council’s network in all 313 development blocks of the state through training. The trained Sakhis will inspire and train local women in their villages for environmental protection and will install 10 lakh clay Ganesh idols in every house. The campaign’s goal is to ensure the participation of 25 lakh people by making 10 lakh Ganesh idols. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also released the campaign’s concept song and poster. Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad’s Vice President Mr. Mohan Nagar was also present in the program. Everyone pledged that this year only Ganesh idols made of clay and cow dung will be installed in homes and these idols will also be immersed in a completely natural way. Dr. Bakul Lad, Executive Director of M.P. Jan Abhiyan Parishad, told that the Parishad has taken a new initiative of “Matti Ganesh-Siddh Ganesh” campaign with Narmada Samagra Sanstha. The trained network of the Parishad will inspire and train women of their villages to make clay idols of Lord Ganesha, so that ‘Matti Ganesh-Siddh Ganesh’ will be installed and immersed in every home. This will increase awareness towards environmental protection.
