Durg. A total of 1058 firms were inspected by drug inspectors from April 2023 to December 2023, out of which show cause notices were issued to 53 firms, suspension action was taken against 30 firms. Licenses of 02 firms were cancelled. During the said period, a total of 10 blood centers and 09 blood storage centers were inspected by drug inspectors. In which, if irregularities are found in 02 blood centres, the activities of the blood centers have been banned till further orders. During the inspection by the drug inspectors of the district, a total of 16 drug samples were collected and a total of 70 reports of drug samples taken earlier were received in which 60 drug samples were found to be of standard level by the State Drug Testing Laboratory, Kalibari Raipur Chhattisgarh. Reports of 10 samples have been declared sub-standard by the State Drug Testing Laboratory, Kalibari Raipur. Under the COTPA Act, a total of 135 challan proceedings were taken against all the schools/colleges/panthels and public places in which a total fine of Rs 22 thousand 770 was recovered. During the inspection, samples of 28 DPCOs were collected by the drug inspectors. During the said period, drug inspectors formed a joint team with the police department and took a total of 14 actions under the NDPS Act. Along with the above, a total of 93 food samples were collected by food safety officers during inspection from food establishments from the month of April 2023 till now to check the quality of food items in food establishments as per the rules of the Food Safety Standards Act 2006, in which a total of 59 samples were of standard. 4 samples were found to be of sub-standard level. In the last years, cases of sub-standard and 14 samples have been registered in the Honorable Competent Court. A total fine of Rs 9 lakh 55000 has been imposed by the Honorable Court in 15 cases.
