State government is committed towards development in labour welfare and energy sector: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai

Chief Minister Sai addressed the 18th triennial convention of All India Vidyut Mazdoor Mahasangh

Raipur 12 April 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the 18th triennial convention of All India Vidyut Mazdoor Mahasangh organized at Gudhiyari in the capital Raipur. Chief Minister Sai welcomed the Shramveers from 21 states in the convention to the maternal home of Lord Shri Ram and wished them Hanuman Jayanti. He said that the Shramveers from all over the country have come here and have given a big message of unity and harmony. Sai said that Lord Shri Ram spent 10 years out of 14 years of exile here, which is a matter of pride for the state. The Chief Minister said that when the first government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was formed in the country, he had taken important decisions to protect the interests of the workers as the Minister of State for Labor. He said that minimum pension was fixed for the workers and the unclaimed amount of PF was used in the interest of the workers.

The Chief Minister said that at present, everyone understands the importance of electricity very well. He said that there is electricity surplus in Chhattisgarh, but in view of the increasing demand for electricity in the coming times, work is being done rapidly to increase the power generation capacity. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had gifted two power projects of 1350 and 850 MW in the state. Sai further informed that investment proposals worth Rs 3 lakh 50 thousand crore have been received in the field of energy. He said that through PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme, work is being done to provide electricity to every household in the state. With this initiative, we are moving from half electricity to free electricity and the state government has also made a provision in the budget to give subsidy for the scheme. On this occasion, the Chief Minister remembered Dattopant Thengadi, who was dedicated to the welfare of workers throughout his life, and paid tribute to his contributions. On this occasion, Minister and in-charge of All India Electricity Workers Federation Radheshyam Jaiswal, Madhusudan Joshi, Mrs. Shobha Singhdev along with electricity workers from 21 states across the country were present.
