171 Athletes from 22 States Join Yogasana Competition at National Games
National Games: Sports Minister Rekha Arya Inaugurates Yogasana Competition in Almora Sports Minister Rekha Arya inaugurated the Yogasana competition in Almora on Friday. She also emphasized introducing athletes from across the country to the cultural and spiritual heritage of Almora. Grand Opening of Yogasana Competition in Almora The event took place at Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Sports Stadium, where Minister Rekha Arya officially launched the Yogasana competition. During her speech, she highlighted the significance of Almora’s renowned Jageshwar Dham temple, which even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited. She urged that every day, officials should take different teams to visit the temple. Additionally, she encouraged players to visit the Golju Devta temple for blessings.
Minister Praises Almora DM for Efforts Rekha Arya expressed her pride in Almora hosting this prestigious Yogasana event, calling it a moment of honor for the culturally rich city. She emphasized that Uttarakhand is the birthplace of Yogasana, and therefore, expectations are higher from the state’s team. The minister also praised District Magistrate Alok Kumar Pandey for successfully organizing the event on short notice. Yogasana Competition to Run Until February 4 The Yogasana competition, which began on January 31, will continue until February 4, with 171 athletes from 22 states participating. The competition features five categories: Traditional Yogasana, Artistic Yogasana (Single), Artistic Pair, Rhythmic Pair, and Artistic Group. A total of 66 medals will be awarded, including 22 gold, 22 silver, and 22 bronze. Uttarakhand is considered a strong contender for victory in this competition.
