Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended his greetings to the people of Uttarakhand on the occasion of Republic Day. In his message on the eve of Republic Day, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the freedom fighters, constitution-makers, and state movement activists, stating that Republic Day is a celebration of the formation of our Constitution. Remembering Sacrifices and Dedication The Chief Minister emphasized that Republic Day reminds us of the sacrifices and dedication of our freedom fighters. It also inspires us to fulfill their dreams and commit ourselves to our goals. He added that it is our responsibility to remain devoted to the fundamental democratic values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution. Vision for Uttarakhand as the Best State Dhami highlighted that the state government is committed to realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a developed nation by 2047 and transforming Uttarakhand into the best state in the country. Referring to the Prime Minister’s statement calling this decade the “decade of Uttarakhand,” the Chief Minister said it has infused new energy and enthusiasm among the people of the state. The central government is providing unprecedented support for the development of Uttarakhand across various sectors.
Key Achievements of Uttarakhand The Chief Minister shared that the state is preparing to implement a Uniform Civil Code, making Uttarakhand the first state in the country to do so. Effective measures have been taken to preserve the cultural identity of Devbhoomi (Land of Gods). He also expressed confidence that the upcoming National Games to be hosted by Uttarakhand will provide better opportunities for sports and athletes. To promote industries and attract investors, the government is creating a business-friendly environment through policy reforms. Employment has been prioritized in the investment process. Over 19,000 positions in various government departments have been filled in the past three years, with recruitment ongoing for other vacant positions. Accelerating Development with Policies The Chief Minister said that the enthusiasm shown by investors in Uttarakhand will lead to increased local employment opportunities and help curb migration. Efforts are being made to boost religious tourism along with other tourism activities. The number of pilgrims visiting the Char Dham Yatra is increasing significantly. Additionally, the Manaskhand Temple Mala Mission is accelerating efforts to promote religious tourism in the Kumaon region. A winter travel initiative has also been launched to enhance religious tourism and strengthen the state’s economy.
Significant Reforms in the Last Few Years The Chief Minister pointed out that the state government has taken many tough and important decisions for Uttarakhand’s welfare that were not possible in the past 24 years. These include implementing the country’s strictest anti-cheating law, enacting legislation to curb forced religious conversions, and reclaiming over 5,000 hectares of government land from encroachment as part of the fight against land jihad. Major actions have also been taken against corruption. Empowering Women and Society Respecting the women of the state remains a top priority for the government, Dhami said, mentioning the provision of 30% reservation for women in government jobs. He urged the people of Uttarakhand to contribute to Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India. The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to simplifying processes, resolving issues, and ensuring public satisfaction, with the spirit of Antyodaya (upliftment of the last person in society). He called on everyone to pledge their best efforts for a developed Uttarakhand in its silver jubilee year and to contribute to the larger mission of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” (One India, Great India) and a self-reliant India.
