bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that soybean crop production in the state has registered a significant increase in the past years. The government will continue to procure soybean. He said that apart from soybean, farmers will also be encouraged to produce pulses and oilseeds crops. For this, a plan will be made after discussing with the farmers. There is more profit in the production of horticultural crops, so farmers should be encouraged towards horticultural crops. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said this in the review meeting of soybean procurement at the Chief Minister’s residence on Friday. Cooperative Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang, Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Shri Edal Singh Kanshana, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Additional Chief Secretary and Agriculture Production Commissioner Shri Mohammad Suleman, Additional Chief Secretary Cooperation Shri Ashok Barnwal, Principal Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Smt. Rashmi Arun Shami, Secretary Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Shri M. Selvendran and other senior officers were present.
Payment should be made as soon as possible after earning Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that all soybean producing farmers should be procured and their payment should be ensured as soon as possible. Farmers should not face any kind of difficulty or problem of gunny bags in procurement. The procured soybean should be lifted and stored in a proper manner and the produce should be protected from hail and rain.
Soybean procurement will be done till 31 December In the meeting, Secretary Kisan Kalyan and Krishi Vikas informed that soybean procurement is being done in the state from 25 October, which will continue till 31 December. Till 26 December, 2 lakh 4 thousand farmers have sold their soybean. 5 lakh 89 thousand metric tons of soybean has been procured from these farmers. About 6.5 lakh metric tons of soybean is expected to be procured till 31 December. The highest soybean of 180198.04 lakh metric tons has been procured in Bhopal division in the state. 149974.54 lakh metric tons of soybean has been procured in Ujjain division, 93495.33 lakh metric tons in Sagar division and 93287.44 lakh metric tons in Narmadapuram division. The support price of soybean is Rs 4 thousand 892 per quintal. Procurement amount of Rs 1957.1 crore has been paid to the farmers so far.
