Governor Urges Students to Embrace Modern Technology While Honoring Cultural Heritage

Dehradun/Roorkee: Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd.), the Chancellor/Governor of Uttarakhand, attended the fourth convocation ceremony of Quantum University in Roorkee, Haridwar, on Saturday. During the ceremony, the Governor presented gold medals, Presidency Medals for all-round performance, and degrees to the graduating students. Addressing the gathering, the Governor congratulated and wished the best to the students who excelled in their studies.
He acknowledged the young generation’s boundless energy and urged them to use it to contribute to their own growth and the nation’s development. He emphasized that this generation holds the responsibility to fulfill the dreams of their nation, society, and families. He highlighted the current era as the age of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, and stressed the importance of embracing modern technology while cherishing our cultural heritage. The Governor lauded the high number of female medalists as a testament to women’s empowerment, emphasizing their continuous progress and vital contributions to national development.
He commended the university’s initiative to establish a dedicated space for Artificial Intelligence research on campus, recognizing it as a positive step for students pursuing AI-related fields. He encouraged the students to become job creators and emphasized the need to establish their identity beyond academics in real-life situations. He also urged them to dream big and work towards achieving their dreams. The Governor encouraged all students to focus on their expertise with passion, maintain distance from drugs and alcohol, and remember that learning is a continuous process that should continue throughout life. He stressed the importance of continuously improving communication skills. He concluded by wishing all graduates a bright future and urging them to live up to the dreams and aspirations of their mentors and parents. The event was attended by Quantum University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Vivek Kumar, MLAs Pradeep Batra and Mamta Rakesh, the university’s founder Shyam Sunder Goyal, faculty members, and students.
