Raipur, 24 November 2024 : Bastar Olympics 2024 has been organized by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai with the aim of promoting development and culture through sports in the tribal-dominated and Maoist-affected Bastar division. Special enthusiasm was seen among the youth regarding this event, in which youth from remote villages demonstrated their sports skills. Chief Minister Sai has described this initiative as an important effort to preserve tribal culture and traditional sports as well as connect the youth with the mainstream. District level Bastar Olympics competition was organized in Narayanpur district from 22 to 23 November. The competition was organized at Parade Ground and Sports Complex of Narayanpur, in which players of the district participated enthusiastically. Today, the state’s Home and Jail, Panchayat and Rural Development, Technical Education and Employment, Science, Technology and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma attended the closing ceremony of the district level Bastar Olympics as the chief guest. Addressing the program, he encouraged the players who won in the district level Olympics to win in the division level Bastar Olympics to be held in Jagdalpur from 5 to 10 December. To develop Bastar, roads, bridges, Anganwadis, schools, drinking water, electricity, mobile towers will be installed in the interior villages.
The work of changing the picture of Bastar is being done under the good governance of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. All of you will play an important role in making Bastar Maoist free. He said that the Maoists have made up their mind to keep the people of Bastar away from development, due to which schools, roads, bridges and drinking water have not reached the interior villages till now and they are making the children of Bastar illiterate. We will not let their plans succeed, we all will have to take a pledge to make Bastar division Maoist free by 31 March 2026. Home Minister Vijay Sharma said that we will have to come forward to face the Maoists boldly. He appealed to contribute in making Bastar a peaceful state, progressive, progressive and developed.

The players of Bastar have a wonderful talent, for which this Bastar Olympics has given a good opportunity to hone it, so you people should perform well and take the sport forward. Roads, bridges, drinking water, schools, Anganwadis, sub-health centers are being established in the inaccessible areas of Abujhmad, soon Abujhmad will be connected to the main stream. Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sharma announced the construction of sports grounds in Orchha and Narayanpur at a cost of Rs 50 lakh each.

While addressing the players, he said that the children of Abujhmad region have become skilled in the game of Mallakhamb and have brought glory to Abujhmad by performing in many cities of the country. The players who participated in the event and got first, second and third place were also given moments, trophies, certificates and uniforms as prizes. All the participants who took part in the event were given a certificate of participation.
