Bhopal. New and Renewable Energy Minister Rakesh Shukla has said that the word Asha is another name for hope. This word also promotes women empowerment. Minister Shri Shukla on Sunday honored Asha, supervisor and BCM in Mehgaon of Bhind district by presenting them with appreciation letters, shawls and coconuts for their excellent work.
Minister Shri Shukla said that Asha workers are working as a strong link in the health department, who are taking every pregnant woman to the health center and performing vaccination related tasks with full responsibility.
Minister Shri Shukla said that the word Asha is attached before the name of the Asha worker, which not only awakens a ray of hope in everyone’s mind. It also promotes women empowerment. The work of Asha workers cannot be praised enough. He said that Asha is working to reach pregnant women before the doctor. It is the result of the continuous efforts and hard work of ASHA workers in the district that the infant and maternal mortality rate has decreased today. He expressed hope that by working vigilantly in this way, the sex ratio in the district will improve further in the future. A large number of ASHA workers and local people were also present in the program.
