Healthy childhood, golden future’ Devansh will now listen and speak

Raipur. Devansh will now not only listen but also speak. This has been made possible by the Chirayu team of Sarangarh, with whose help a 2-year-old boy from village Hiccha was successfully treated under the Chirayu scheme. Under the National Child Health Program, the Chirayu scheme is only for needy children from birth to 18 years of age, whose diseases are identified on time and free treatment is provided. During its daily health checkup, the Chirayu team (B) of Community Health Center Sarangarh found Devansh, a child from the nearby village Hiccha Anganwadi Center, to be hearing impaired. Along with the child’s hearing ability being reduced, he does not respond to external sound at all.

The sensitive Chief Minister is constantly striving for the well-being of the people of the state. He has given instructions to all the officers for good governance in the state. In compliance with this, proper arrangements were made for the treatment of child Devansh under the guidance of Collector Shri Dharmesh Sahu and the able guidance of Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. F R Nirala. Speech therapy was given continuously for 3 months to develop the speaking ability of Devansh. With this therapy, the necessary improvement in Devansh’s speech started. Keeping in mind that the child will speak only when he hears, he was sent to AIIMS Hospital Raipur for surgery for hearing power of the ear called Clear Implant. Devansh was examined at different levels, vaccination process was completed and then Clear Implant was done. After this, the process of speech therapy is being done for the practice of listening and speaking of Devansh.

It is known that this type of operation costs 6-7 lakh rupees. Financially weak Devansh’s father Shri Kishore Patel was not able to arrange such a huge amount for the treatment of the child. Devansh’s free treatment was possible only through Chirayu Yojana. Devansh’s parents are very happy with Chirayu Yojana. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the government and the entire health team, calling the scheme life-saving for children.

It is known that the aim of the Chirayu scheme is to identify the defects, deficiencies, diseases, disabilities and developmental delays present in children from birth and provide treatment as soon as possible. Under the Chirayu scheme, children are examined in schools and Anganwadis and if needed, they are given free treatment. Under this scheme, cleft lips, congenital cataract, crooked hands and feet, hearing impairment (congenital deafness) and 30 types of diseases and deformities are treated.
