Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Forest and Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav participated in the plantation program in the BSF range area in Indore today under the resolution of Prime Minister Narendra Modi “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign and planted a sapling in the memory of their mother. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav planted a banyan tree in the memory of his mother Late. Leelabai Poonamchand Ji Yadav. Union Minister Shri Yadav planted a mango tree in the memory of his mother Late Smt. Santara Yadav, State Urban Bodies and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya planted a mango tree in the memory of his mother Late Smt. Ayodhya Devi Vijayvargiya.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that since ancient times, Indore and Ujjain have had a special relationship in the importance of environment. Indore is the place of origin of 7 rivers including Maa Kshipra. Indore has a special identity in the country and the world. Along with being a clean city, Indore will definitely become number one in green city as well. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing a program organized for plantation of trees in Indore. On the call of Prime Minister Shri Modi, plantation is being done in the country under the campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”. He said that due to the efforts of the Union Forest and Environment Minister, Madhya Pradesh got leopards, which is a matter of pride for the state. He said that Indian society has always been a nature worshipper. In the Vedic traditions of India, it is said that one lake is equal to 10 wells, one pond is equal to 10 lakes, one son is equal to 10 ponds and one tree is equal to 10 sons. This is our Vedic belief and the importance of trees is in our tradition. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Indore will become a green city along with a clean city, with this resolution the whole of Indore is associated with this campaign.
Union Forest and Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav said that the Prime Minister launched the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. A mega campaign to plant 140 crore saplings is going on in the whole country. He said that this year the extreme form of heat was seen in the form of 45 to 50 degree temperature. Union Minister Shri Yadav said that to complete development and projects all over the world, man has built concrete cities but destroyed the greenery of the earth. No matter how much progress man makes, nature gifts many essential things including food, water, medicines, but what do we give back to nature in return. A mother gave birth to us and Mother Earth provides us with the means to live. It is our duty to pay respect to the “mother” who gives life and to fulfill the resolution of giving a green earth to mother nature as a mark of respect. Earth is not only for humans but for all living beings, therefore, under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign in the country, every citizen has been called upon to plant saplings. The efforts of Madhya Pradesh in the tree plantation initiative are commendable. The campaign of Indore residents to make Indore green along with Clean Indore is commendable. Union Minister Shri Yadav and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav were honoured by presenting them turban, angavastra and memento.
Urban Bodies and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the green coverage of Indore will be increased. For this, special efforts will be made to plant 51 lakh saplings and protect them. Minister Vijayvargiya said that various social organisations and institutions are taking responsibility of planting saplings and protecting them. The campaign is being implemented effectively with public participation in Indore. We will make Indore number 1 in green coverage.
