State Women and Girl Empowerment Policy will be prepared
A two-day state level consultation workshop is being organized by the Women and Child Development Department in Bhopal on 27th and 28th June 2024 to prepare a policy for women and girl empowerment in Madhya Pradesh. Women and Child Development Minister Nirmala Bhuria will inaugurate the workshop on 27th June at 10 am at Hotel Palash Residency, Bhopal. Representatives from more than 45 departments will participate in the workshop.
On the first day of the workshop on Thursday, Commissioner Women and Child Development Mrs. Sufia Farooqui Wali will express her views on the key priority topic of empowerment of women and girls. UNFPA Chief Mr. Jaydeep Biswas will present his views on gender equality and women empowerment-global issues, Principal Secretary Mr. Sanjay Shukla on policy guidelines for women and girls, Ms. Shobhana Bochle on gender transformative perspective, Ms. Mallika Basu on theme based group work exercise.
On the first day of the workshop on Thursday, there will be group discussions on topics such as empowerment schemes for women and girls, gender-based discrimination, health and nutrition, higher education for women and girls, skill development, etc.
On the second day of the workshop on Friday, Dr. Manohar Agnani, former IAS, Ms. Trishaan Pareek of UNFPA Rajasthan, Ms. Pooja Singh of UNICEF and Kanta Singh of UN Women will participate in the panel discussion on policy making. Apart from this, topics such as safety of women and girls, law, livelihood and skill development opportunities, gender and panchayat, etc. will be discussed with subject experts in various sessions.
