With the help of Fazalhaq Farooqi’s five wickets, Afghanistan defeated Uganda by 125 runs and registered a big win in the T20 World Cup. This is the fourth biggest win of any team in the Men’s T20 World Cup. Afghanistan, batting first, scored 183 runs for five wickets in 20 overs on the basis of Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s 76 runs and Ibrahim Zadran’s 70 runs. In reply, the entire Ugandan team collapsed for 58 runs in 16 overs. Apart from Riazat Ali Shah and Robinson Obuya, no other Ugandan batsman could reach double figures. Robinson scored the highest 14 runs for Uganda. Apart from Farooqi, Naveen Ul Haq and captain Rashid Khan took two wickets each.

This was Uganda’s first match in the World Cup and the team completely failed to impress. Uganda scored the fourth lowest score of the Men’s T20 World Cup. Netherlands holds the record for scoring the lowest score in this global tournament. Uganda had a very bad start while chasing the target and the team lost two wickets in the very first over. The Ugandan team could not recover from these setbacks till the end and had to face defeat.
