Hostels will be built with special assistance from the central government
Raipur 25 February 2025: With the special assistance of the central government, 6 hostels will be built for working women in Chhattisgarh. For this, an amount of Rs 202 crore has been released by the Women and Child Development Department of the Center. These include three in the capital, one in Sector-16 in Nava Raipur and two hostels to CSIDC in Bilaspur and Sirgitti. Three working women’s hostels will be built for working women in the capital Raipur at a cost of about Rs 48 crore. The proposal for this hostel was sent to the central government in the year 2024. This proposal has been approved by the central government on 24 February.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner Avinash Mishra said that with the construction of these 250-250 bed hostels, working women in the capital will get safe residential facilities at affordable rates. All three hostels will be three-storey. In each of these hostels, 250 beds will be arranged. The hostel rooms will be double bedroom and will have attached bathrooms. Efforts will be made to provide mess facilities in all hostels so that working women do not have to go out for breakfast and lunch. These hostels will be built in residential areas only so that women do not face any problem in commuting. The commissioner has said that efforts will be made to complete these hostels within a year by speeding up the process. The corporation will be the construction agency for all three hostels and its operation and maintenance will be done on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. Nearly 10 thousand women are working According to the employment office, nearly 10 thousand women have come from outside and are working in government departments in the capital. He said that this number can increase in private institutions.
