220 bed hospital building to be constructed in Kunkuri at a cost of Rs. 32 crores

Raipur, On the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government has issued a tender for the construction of a 220 bed capacity ultra modern hospital in Kunkuri of Jashpur district. The state government has approved an amount of Rs. 32 crores 9 lakhs for this hospital. It is noteworthy that the Vishnudev Sai government in the state had announced the construction of a 220 bed capacity ultra modern hospital in Kunkuri in its budget. In this budget, the Chief Minister Mr. Sai has approved the amount required for the construction of the hospital building.

This hospital is being considered a milestone for the tribal dominated Jashpur district. The government intends to develop it as a medical college in the future. For information, let us tell you that after taking over the reins of the state in December last year, Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai is continuously working for the expansion of health services and qualitative improvement in the entire state including Jashpur. Immediately after taking oath, he had given strict instructions to the officials responsible for improving the ambulance service in the state. In compliance with this, ambulance facility was asked to be provided to the patient within half an hour of receiving the call from the needy patients or relatives. In the first cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister had instructed the health department officials to make cheap generic medicines compulsory for the patients in all the government hospitals of the state. During the last 8 months of his tenure, work is being done rapidly for the expansion of health services in Jashpur district.

Along with a 220-bed hospital in Kunkuri, 25 additional ambulances and 1 hearse have been provided for the convenience of patients. By giving the status of Primary Health Centre to 7 sub-health centres, necessary human resources have been approved. By posting 19 MBBS doctors and 7 specialist doctors in the district, important steps have been taken towards removing the shortage of doctors. The state government has approved Rs 2 crore 32 lakh to remove the shortage of machines in hospitals. This amount will be used to start a dialysis centre in Kunkuri as well as purchase necessary equipment for hospitals in Jashpur, Manora, Lodam and Bagicha. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai’s intention is to make Jashpur district self-reliant in the healthcare sector so that patients and their relatives do not have to wander for treatment.
