115.94 lakh metric tonnes of paddy purchased so far in the state
Raipur. In Chhattisgarh, the paddy procurement campaign is going on continuously from November 1, 2023 under the Kharif marketing year 2023-24. This year, as per the guarantee of Modi ji, the state government is purchasing paddy from farmers at the rate of 21 quintals per acre. So far, the state government has purchased 115.94 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from farmers at support price. In lieu of paddy, an amount of more than Rs 23448 crore has been paid to the farmers through the bank.
As per the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the farmers who had sold paddy earlier will also get the benefit of selling 21 quintals of paddy per acre. This means that the farmers who have sold the predetermined quantity of paddy from November 1 till now will be able to sell the remaining quantity of paddy in the procurement center till January 31. It is noteworthy that the state government has set a target of procurement of 130 lakh metric tonnes of paddy in the Kharif marketing year 2023-24.
According to the information received from the General Manager of Markfed, till now 115 lakh 94 thousand 323 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from 21 lakh 55 thousand 841 farmers in the state at support price. In lieu of this, an amount of more than Rs 23 thousand 448 crore has been paid to the farmers through the bank. Along with paddy procurement, continuous lifting of paddy is going on for custom milling. So far, DO has been issued for the lifting of 93 lakh 01 thousand 996 metric tonnes of paddy. Against which 74 lakh 01 thousand 772 metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted by the millers.
