Raipur. In the Lok Sabha elections-2024, the Election Commission has provided the facility of home voting for voters above 85 years of age and disabled voters. At the age of 105, Kanhaiya Ram Banchod, resident of village Kandul Sahupara of Rural Assembly, showed enthusiasm to participate in this festival of democracy. When the polling team reached his house today, he and his family members burst with joy.
Tehsildar Tulsi Rathore and other employees were included in the voting team. He first requested his family members to call Shri Kanhaiya Ram. At that time, within a moment Shri Kanhaiya Lal reached the voting team. The team members started the process and Shri Kanhaiya completed the process by giving a thumbs up. Indelible ink was put on his finger after which he voted. He thanked the Election Commission for this initiative.
Hriday Singh Banchhor, son of Shri Kanhaiya Ram Banchhor, told that his father was born in the year 1919. He always participated in the election process and kept voting. His son said that he himself is 60 years old. He has always seen his father voting. But today, after coming of age, they are facing difficulty in going to the polling booth. In the last few elections, considering their wishes, we used to take them with support to vote. But now he was facing difficulty in going to the polling booth. This has become easier with the facility of home voting. On this, Shri Banchhor thanked the Election Commission.
