Xiaomi 16: We still have about six months to wait for the launch of the Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro, but information about these phones is already surfacing online. A recent leak has shared some exciting details about the base model in the Xiaomi 16 series. The standard Xiaomi 16 is expected to come with a 6.32-inch display and might feature the largest battery ever seen in a phone of this size. It’s also likely to have a triple rear camera setup. Just for context, the current Xiaomi 15 was launched in India back in March.

Expected Specs of Xiaomi 16- A user on Weibo, going by the name Smart Pikachu (translated from Chinese), has leaked some key specs for the upcoming Xiaomi 16. According to this leak, the phone will have a 6.32-inch flat display and a compact design with slim bezels all around. It’s expected to run on HyperOS 3, which will probably be based on Android 16. The information suggests that the Xiaomi 16 will be slim and lightweight. Similar to the current Xiaomi 15, it might also include a 50-megapixel triple camera setup. There are claims that this phone will have the largest battery ever for a device with a 6.3-inch screen, although the exact battery size hasn’t been specified yet. However, it’s suggested that the battery will be larger than the 6,260mAh battery found in the OnePlus 13T, which was launched earlier this month in China. Recent rumors indicate that the Xiaomi 16 could feature a battery capacity of around 7,000mAh. It’s also expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, which Qualcomm hasn’t officially released yet. Additionally, reports suggest that the Xiaomi 16 series might use the latest silicon-carbon (Si/C) battery technology.

The Xiaomi 15 was launched in China in October 2024 with a 5,400mAh battery, supporting 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The Indian version had a slightly smaller 5,240mAh battery but offered the same fast charging capabilities. In India, the phone is priced at ₹64,999 for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage model. The Xiaomi 16 is expected to have even better specs than the current Xiaomi 15. The Xiaomi 15 features a 6.36-inch full-HD+ (1,200 x 2,670 pixels) LTPO AMOLED display and runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage.mIt also has a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 900 sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter. For selfies, it features a 32-megapixel front camera. Plus, the phone has an IP68 rating, meaning it’s protected against dust and water.
