Work in government offices halted due to strike by government employees
Raipur. Officers and employees in Chhattisgarh are on a statewide agitation over their four-point demands, due to which work in all government offices came to a complete standstill on Friday. The Chhattisgarh Employee-Adhikari Federation has called for ‘Kalamband-Kaamband, Taalaband’, which has had a huge impact on government services.
Among the main demands, emphasis is being laid on implementing Modi Guarantee. Due to this strike, teachers were absent not only in government offices but also in schools, due to which educational activities were affected. This is the fourth phase of agitation under the banner of the Federation, in which about 4.75 lakh officers and employees from more than 100 departments across the state have participated.
Work is also completely halted in Indravati Bhawan located in the capital Raipur, where offices of many major government departments are located. There is silence in the entire building, and locks are hanging in the department head offices.
Under this agitation, demonstrations are being held at the district and block level. The employees plan to submit a memorandum to the chief minister regarding their demands.
The statewide strike has paralysed government services in Chhattisgarh, and the pressure on the government is mounting as the agitation progresses.
