Work has to be done towards implementing the concept of Clean India-Uttam Bharat: Chairman Bamra
Bhopal. Chairman, Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board and Principal Secretary Environment Gulshan Bamra has said that the circular economy being implemented in the country has to work towards implementing the concept of Clean India-Uttam Bharat while doing environmental protection, resource conservation and waste minimization. Mr. Bamra was addressing a workshop on e-waste at the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore. The workshop was attended by IIT Indore Director Dr. Subhash Joshi, Board Member Secretary Mr. A.A. Mishra along with various stakeholders from the state and the country.
Principal Secretary Environment Mr. Bamra said in the workshop that planned action is being taken to effectively implement the circular economy by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi in Madhya Pradesh under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The main objective of the workshop is to promote recycling and reuse for better management of e-waste. Emphasis was also laid on formalizing the informal sector.
In the workshop, presentations were given by various participants on the work being done in various sectors. In this, Director of Central Pollution Control Board, Shri Anand Kumar gave a presentation on the EPR system implemented in waste disposal and the portal related to imposing environmental compensation on violators. Deputy General Manager of Reserve Bank of India, Manager of SBI, Chief Executive Officer of Sustainability Organization Hyderabad, Senior Advisor of Sustainable Electronic Recycling International Institute, etc. also gave presentations.
