Women will play an important role in developing Chhattisgarh

Raipur. Women empowerment brings that power in women, due to which they can play an important role in giving themselves a positive role. They can take every decision related to life themselves and can live well in the family and society. Women empowerment is to enable them to get their real rights in the society.

Due to the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today India is among the countries with the largest economy in the world. Along with developing India, the mothers and sisters here are going to have a big contribution in developing Chhattisgarh. The Chhattisgarh government under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai is committed to the empowerment of the women of the state and for this, the Mahtari Vandan Yojana has been started in the state. In Chhattisgarh, there is a custom of giving gifts, money and neg to women on festivals and happiness. The Chhattisgarh government is carrying forward the same tradition through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana.

It is noteworthy that under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, married women in the state are being given financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month (total Rs 12,000 annually), which is being deposited directly into their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Women are happy that they are able to fulfill the small needs of their children and family with the amount received from the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, as well as many women are also investing for the future.

Women, especially married women, play an important role in the care and management of the home and family. They mostly spend their small savings on the nutrition of the family and children. But their participation in economic matters is still very low. In view of this, the state government is working to increase the economic participation of women. Talking about women’s health, according to the National Family Health Survey-5 conducted in 2020-21, 23.1 percent of women are below the standard body mass index. The level of anemia in women aged 15 to 49 years is 60.8 percent and in pregnant women it is 51.8 percent. In such a situation, Mahtari Vandan Yojana has come as a big relief for them.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai says that his effort will be to double the GDP of the state in the coming five years. That is why a provision of Rs 3,000 crore has been made for Mahtari Vandan Yojana in the budget to make the women of the state self-reliant. Mahtari Vandan Yojana started from March 10 by sending the first installment to the bank accounts of women, in which a total of 70 lakh 12 thousand 417 beneficiaries of the state are getting the benefit of Mahtari Vandan Yojana, in the month of June, the amount of the fourth installment has been released in the bank accounts of women.
