With the cooperation of UNICEF, development work in the field of health and nutrition will get momentum

Raipur. The Health and Family Welfare Department has invited UNICEF to speed up development work in the field of health and nutrition in Surguja division. Under this cooperation, UNICEF will mainly provide technical support in the newly formed district Manendragarh – Chirmiri – Bharatpur.

This two-year program from July 2024 to July 2026 is being launched with the tireless efforts of Health Minister and Manendragarh MLA Shyam Bihari Jaiswal. Under his guidance, this project will be implemented extensively.

UNICEF will mainly provide technical support in the newly formed district Manendragarh – Chirmiri – Bharatpur not only in the field of health and nutrition but will also work in the field of other components affecting health and nutrition such as education, sanitation, child protection and disaster management, in which all the departments at the district level will provide appropriate financial and administrative support.

Through this project, health and nutrition work will gain momentum in Surguja division, especially in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district. State head in charge from UNICEF, Mr. William Hanlon, health expert Dr. Gajendra Singh and nutrition expert Dr. Aparna Deshpande were present in the meeting.
