“Will the Hydro Power Project on Gauriganga Be Approved? Center Gives Assurance”

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is on a visit to Delhi these days. During this, he met Union Minister of Forest, Environment and Climate Change Bhupendra Yadav. CM Dhami sought approval for several important projects in this meeting.

During his visit to Delhi, CM Dhami focused most on getting environmental clearance and permission for forest land transfer for the proposed 120 MW Sirkari Bhyol-Rupsiabagh hydroelectric project on the Gauriganga river. Apart from this, he also sought approval in the next meeting of the National Wildlife Board to build a ropeway from Triveni Ghat to Neelkanth Mahadev Temple in Rishikesh. Chief Minister Dhami also appealed to the central government for special cooperation for the revival of the world famous Beatles Ashram. Also, he demanded special assistance of **Rs 404 crore** under **CAMPA Yojana** in view of the increasing incidents of forest fire. Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav responded positively to all the proposals, for which Chief Minister Dhami thanked him.
