Chief Engineer, Superintending Engineer and other officers should regularly inspect maintenance works. Note the inspection in the register of the power distribution centre. If tripping happens even after maintenance, the responsibility of the concerned engineer should be fixed. Energy Minister Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar gave these instructions on Saturday during the review of departmental schemes in the ministry. Energy Minister Shri Tomar said that if the Chief Engineer (CE) and Superintending Engineer (SE) are negligent in discharging their duties, then action will be taken against them as well as giving their charge to their junior will be considered. Those who do better work will also be honored.

He said that smart meters have been installed in the homes of most of the consumers in Indore, so this work can be done easily. After the installation of smart meters, encourage consumers to increase the load wherever necessary.
Get open distribution boxes and transformers fenced- Energy Minister said that lids should be installed on open distribution boxes. Consider installing fiber lids. Also get fencing done around the transformers, so that there is no possibility of accidents. Get the power lines coming out of school premises surveyed and guarded. Wide publicity should be given to the departmental schemes running in the interest of consumers.
Sufficient material should be kept in store- Energy Minister Shri Tomar said that every material used in maintenance should be available in sufficient quantity in the store. This material should also be kept at the distribution center level.

Additional Chief Secretary Energy Mr. Neeraj Mandloi said that after installation of smart meters, the bill should clearly mention the old dues. On complaints of fast running of smart meters, install parallel old meters at some places and compare the readings. Use new equipment for maintenance. Also, whatever maintenance is scheduled on a particular day, complete it on the same day. Also analyze tripping.
