Who Won Yesterday’s Match: KKR vs CSK – A Thrilling Finish at Eden Gardens

Yesterday’s IPL match featured the Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. It was an edge-of-your-seat game, with Chennai clinching the victory in the final over while MS Dhoni was still batting. KKR batted first after winning the toss, but their start was rocky—opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz was out early, scoring just 11 runs. Sunil Narine and Ajinkya Rahane tried to stabilize the innings and managed to put together a partnership worth 50 runs. Narine scored 26 runs off 17 balls before getting out. Rahane played some fantastic shots, making 48 runs from 33 balls before he was dismissed. After that, Manish Pandey and Andre Russell took over. Pandey, who replaced Venkatesh Iyer, met expectations by staying unbeaten with 36 runs off 28 balls. Meanwhile, Russell went on a hitting spree, scoring 38 runs off just 21 balls, bringing KKR’s total to a solid 179 for 6. For CSK, Noor Ahmad was the standout bowler, taking 4 wickets.

When Chennai came out to chase the target, they had an even worse start than KKR. Openers Devon Conway and Ayush Mhatre were both dismissed without scoring. Then, Urvil Patel gave the innings a boost with a quick 31 runs off just 11 balls. However, Ashwin managed only 8 runs, and Jadeja was out for 19, putting CSK under pressure again. That’s when Dewald Brevis stepped up and changed the game. He smashed 52 runs off just 25 balls before getting out. After that, Dhoni and Shivam Dube brought the team close to the target. Dube scored 45 runs before getting out, while Dhoni kept his composure, finishing not out with 17 runs off 18 balls, leading Chennai to a thrilling win with just 2 balls and 2 wickets to spare. For KKR, Vaibhav Arora was the top bowler, taking 3 wickets. Now, KKR has only two matches left and sits on 11 points, making their chances of reaching the playoffs quite slim.
