They keep it off by default, so you’ve got to flip it on yourself. To get started, hop into WhatsApp settings, tap chats, then hit voice message transcripts to switch it on. Pick your language from the list after that. You’ll see options like “set up now” or “wait for Wi-Fi” to wrap it up—that’s how you get it going. Once it’s set, just press and hold any voice message in a chat, go to “more options,” and tap “transcribe.” Boom—the words show up right in the voice note box.
