Hey, WhatsApp fans in India—great news! The app’s rolling out a cool trick that turns your voice messages into words. They gave us a heads-up about it back in November, and now it’s here for real. It handles everything right on your phone to whip up text from your voice notes. That means it can jot down whatever you’re saying in those messages. Android folks are getting it first, and iPhone buddies will catch up soon. This trick doesn’t have Hindi listed as a language option yet, but it’s still spitting out text for Hindi voice notes anyway. Officially, it’s set up for English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian. WhatsApp says it keeps your chats going smooth no matter where you’re at or what you’re doing. The Meta crew behind it says this all happens on your phone, so WhatsApp can’t sneak a peek at your voice or text. You can turn it on or off in the voice message transcript settings. They keep it off by default, so you’ve got to flip it on yourself. To get started, hop into WhatsApp settings, tap chats, then hit voice message transcripts to switch it on. Pick your language from the list after that. You’ll see options like “set up now” or “wait for Wi-Fi” to wrap it up—that’s how you get it going. Once it’s set, just press and hold any voice message in a chat, go to “more options,” and tap “transcribe.” Boom—the words show up right in the voice note box. It’s out for all WhatsApp users now, but some might need to grab an update to see it. Make sure your phone’s rocking the latest WhatsApp version to jump in.
