We will make Madhya Pradesh the dairy capital of the country: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Madhya Pradesh will be made the dairy capital of the country. The Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department will be named as Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Cow Husbandry Department. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the state level Gaushala Sammelan at the Chief Minister’s residence premises on Friday. Cow-keepers and Gaushala operators from across the state participated enthusiastically in the conference. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav transferred a grant amount of Rs 90 crore to the Gaushalas with a single click. On this occasion, loan approval orders were also given symbolically to three beneficiaries of Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana. Concrete efforts to increase milk production in Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has to be made the milk capital of the country, many steps are being taken by the state government for this. Madhya Pradesh is the motherland of rivers. The entire state is covered with forests. Till the year 2002-03, the budget of the Animal Husbandry Department was only 300 crores, which has now increased to 2600 crores. At one time, a system of buying milk according to its fat content was implemented in the state. The state government has decided to buy milk of mother cow, which is like nectar, so that the cow-keepers can benefit. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that cow’s milk is a complete diet. High-tech cow shelters are being operated in the state. The meaning of the government is that the sufferings of the poor should be eradicated from their lives and the path of happiness should be paved. The state government has increased the grant amount for running cow shelters from Rs 20 to Rs 40 per cow per day. The state government has signed a contract with the National Dairy Development Board. The state’s target is to increase milk production five times. At present, five and a half crore liters of milk is produced in the state and about half of it is used domestically and the rest reaches the market. By setting up food processing units, new plans are being made for prosperity through milk in the state. To make the work of milk production and collection systematic, the number of committees is also resolved to increase from 9 thousand to 26 thousand.

The government will give higher price for grains produced from natural manure Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the name of the Animal Husbandry Department will now be called the Gopalan Department along with Animal Husbandry. Giving respect to Mother Cow, welfare schemes will be run through this department. Under the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana, subsidy is being given for cow rearing. Farmers should make manure from cow dung, the government will give higher price for grains produced from natural manure. At present, CNG gas is being produced through cow shelters in Indore, Dewas, Rewa and some other districts. Chemical free natural and organic manure is being made available to farmers. The state government will provide 125 acres of land to open a big cow shelter. Provision has also been made for this in the current budget. In the next three years, the state’s scenario will change in the field of cow rearing. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that today 7 cow shelters have been awarded and cow devotees have also been honored. They are from Bhopal, Damoh, Anuppur, Raisen, Chhindwara, Harda and Vidisha districts. Registration certificates were provided to 73 Gaushalas in the program.

The state government is committed to the respect of Gau-Mata. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Gau Mata injured on the roads will be sent to the Gaushala. Gau Mata sits on the road to relieve her pain, because we have left her like this. During the rainy season, to protect themselves from mosquitoes and insects, cows and other cattle come to sit on the roads, because they get relief from pain when the wind blows due to the movement of vehicles. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Lord Krishna was dedicated to cows and other animals. Vrindavan villages will be built in every block of the state. If children get cow milk, they will get relief from malnutrition. Those who have a cow in their house, they are Gopal. Chief Minister’s residence has today become the residence of Gau-palakas. Where there is Gau-Mata, there is heaven. Although our mother has given us birth, the right to the first roti is of Gau-Mata. Gau-Mata has an important place in Sanatan culture. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Madhya Pradesh is becoming prosperous through cow rearing. The soul of India resides in the villages. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel actually established the Amul Institute in Gujarat, but we often give the credit for the progress of Amul to others. Cow rearing is a medium that provides income.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav transferred the grant amount to the cowshed operators and presented Acharya Vidyasagar Jeev Daya Gau Seva Samman Award for the year 2023-24 to the institutions doing remarkable work in the field of cow service and cowshed operation. Self-reliant cowsheds will be built in Madhya Pradesh: Minister of State for Animal Husbandry Patel Minister of State for Animal Husbandry Independent Charge Lakhan Patel said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the work of cow protection and promotion is being done continuously in the state. Cow Conservation Year was celebrated in the state from 9 April 2024 to 29 March 2025, under which works of cow protection and cow service were done across the state. The government has decided to build self-reliant cowsheds in the state. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to do so. 30 such places have also been identified in the state where self-reliant cowsheds with a capacity of 5000 to 25000 cattle will be built. These cow shelters will be hi-tech, where all the modern facilities for the care of cows will be provided along with organic manure, CNG gas production etc. along with electricity from solar energy. The Animal Husbandry Minister said that animal husbandry has a special place in doubling the income of farmers. Breed improvement in animals is necessary to make the cow shelters self-reliant. Many schemes are being run by the government for animal husbandry. The government has decided to give 25 percent subsidy on keeping 200 cows in the Kamdhenu scheme. The state government is giving institutional and personal awards to encourage cowherds in the field of cow service.

Senior MP V.D. Sharma said that cow rearing and cow service are part of the life of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. He has set a target to make the state a leader in animal husbandry. This is a historic conference of this sector in the state. The state government has signed an agreement with the National Dairy Development Board. Kamdhenu Yojana will give farmers an opportunity to start cow rearing and dairy. Cow rearing will strengthen not only the agricultural sector but the entire economic sector. Sports and Cooperation Minister Vishwas Sarang said that no virtuous deed can be done more than serving mother cow. By serving mother cow, one can cross the Vaitarni. For the prosperity of the state, attention will have to be paid to cow rearing and cow service. The decision to send grant money to cow protectors with a single click is commendable. MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani, Bhopal Mayor Mrs. Malti Rai, Bhopal Municipal Corporation President Kishan Suryavanshi, Additional Chief Secretary Ashok Varnwal, Principal Secretary Umakant Umrao, along with many public representatives and cow protectors from across the state were present in the state level Gau Shala Sammelan organized at the Chief Minister’s residence.
