We saw India’s fearless attitude in three T20s
India’s acting head coach VVS Laxman said that his team played fearless cricket in the T20 series against South Africa and he believes that the support the team is getting around the world is behind this. India is leading 2-1 in the four-match series. The last match will be played on Friday at the Wanderers.
Laxman said at a ceremony organized to welcome the Indian team on Thursday night, “In the last three matches we saw that the team has played fearlessly.” He said, “On any tour abroad, we try to entertain the audience through the game. We always feel that we are playing in our country.” He said, “The reason for this is the fans of the Indian diaspora and the Indian cricket team settled around the world. They love the Indian team and Indian cricketers very much. I don’t know whether they were supporting the home team or our team, but more blue than green was seen in the audience.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav said that it was nice to meet the Indian community on a busy tour. He said, “It is always nice to meet the Indian community when we play outside our country. It feels like we are at home.” Indian Consul General Mahesh Kumar said that the century-old cricketing relationship between India and South Africa can become a model for broader relations between the two countries. Cricket South Africa President Pearl Mafoshe appealed to the Indian team to return to South Africa in 2025.
