Vikramotsav-2025 will begin with Mahashivratri festival: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Vikramotsav-2025 will begin from Mahashivratri festival on 26 February in Ujjain. Vikramotsav, which will run from the festival of the creator Mahadev to the beginning of the universe on Varsha Pratipada 30 March, will focus on the era of Emperor Vikramaditya, India’s progress, renaissance and Bharat Vidya. Under this, along with literary-cultural programs, activities based on astrology, seminars, history and science conference, Vikram trade fair, folk and tribal culture will be conducted. Launch of Vikramaditya Vedic clock app, exhibition of handicrafts, traditional cuisine, textile industry, handloom equipment along with regional, mythological film festival and screening and presentations of special films centered on Shri Krishna will also be a part of Vikramotsav. Along with All India Kavi Sammelan, the program will also have the launch of research books, texts and publication of Vikram Panchang. This Vikramotsav of development through heritage, incorporating cultural, social and economic activities, is unique in itself. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the meeting of the organizing committee of Vikramotsav-2025 at Samatva Bhavan (Chief Minister’s residence). Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also released the calendar of Vikramotsav.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Vikramotsav should be organized in accordance with the dignity of the multi-faceted personality of Emperor Vikramaditya. The start of the program is very near, so all departments should ensure that all preparations are completed before the scheduled time in coordination. All the scholars, artists and other important persons participating in the event should be welcomed and arrangements should be made with the spirit of “Atithi Devo Bhava:”. It should also be ensured that the devotees coming on Mahashivratri do not face any kind of trouble and the arrangements of the festival are also not affected.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that during Vikramotsav, exhibitions should be organized in Ujjain as well as other places focusing on Emperor Vikramaditya, Indian Rishi Scientific Tradition, Devi Ahilyabai. Activities should be conducted to spread information among the people on various aspects of Indian knowledge tradition. He also directed to include poets of tribal dialects like Bhili, Gondi of the state in the Kavi Sammelan. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that songs, poems and compositions centered on Emperor Vikramaditya will be honored. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that events like drone and robotic-show should be held in the National Science Conference to be held in Vikramotsav. He also directed to organize science conferences in Mahakoshal, Bundelkhand, Baghelkhand region. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that scientists from other important science and research institutes including ISRO should also be invited in science conferences.
While giving information about Vikram Samvat, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the process of Samvat’s introduction is based on strength and good governance, activities should be conducted to inform the people about the various aspects of Emperor Vikramaditya. He also directed to present the Mahanritya Samrat Vikramaditya, developed like Janata Raja, in various cities of the state as well as in major cities of the country.
Various programs to be held during Vikramotsav
“The grand inauguration of Vikramotsav will be done with the holy festival of Mahashivratri. Mahashivratri fairs will be inaugurated across the state. In the inaugural program to be held in Ujjain, Kalash Yatra will be taken out with vintage cars, sports bikes and performance of tribal artists. On this occasion, a special exhibition of 84 Mahadev will also be organized. “Vedic Ghadi App” based on ancient Indian time calculation will be launched. The outline of Simhastha-2028 will be determined in the program. Under the cultural program, there will be a musical performance by rhythm player Anandam Shivamani and folk singer Hansraj Raghuvanshi. An exhibition of textile industry, handloom, equipment will be organized under Vikram Trade Fair. Tribal crafts, traditional cuisine and tribal traditional medical camps will be organized under Adi Shilp.
From February 27, exhibitions will be held in Vikramotsav on ancient Indian Rishi scientific tradition, Vikram period coins and seals, 64 arts of Shri Krishna (in Chitravan style of Malwa), Shri Krishna Holi festival, Chaurasi Mahadev, tribal models, Emperor Vikramaditya and Ayodhya, ancient Indian musical instruments, Devi 108 forms and architecture built on Devi Ahitya. Along with this, there will be a research seminar on Shaiv tradition and Vastu-science, Samvat tradition in India-speciality and evidence. Violinist Anupriya Devtale will give her performance. From 1 to 3 March 2025, under the ideological gathering, there will be deliberation on the subject of justice of Emperor Vikramaditya. On March 8, there will be an All India Kavi Sammelan of dialects in Lok Ranjan.
International History Conclave will be held from 10th to 12th March in Vikramotsav. From 15th to 16th March, seminar on Samhita Jyotish and Vishishtya and Acharya Varahamihir, Mahadev Shilpkala workshop from 21st March and daily Mandana camp will be organized. In the same sequence, International Festival of mythological films will be held from 21st to 25th March, films focusing on tribal culture will be screened under Aadi Bimba. Along with this, Vikram Natya Samaroh, Veda Antakshari will be held from 21st to 29th March, All India Kavi Sammelan on 22nd March, National Science Conference and Science Festival will be held on 26-28th March.
On the occasion of Nav Samvatsara on 30th March, Surya Pooja, Ujjaini Gaurav Diwas, as well as publications will be launched. On the occasion of Varsha Pratipada, Samrat Vikramaditya Alankaran Samaroh will be held, musical performances will be given by popular artists and there will be grand fireworks as well.
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Mr. Chaitanya Kumar Kashyap, Higher Education Minister Mr. Inder Singh Parmar, Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Mrs. Krishna Gaur, Minister of State for Skill Development Mr. Gautam Tetwal were present in the meeting. Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Jagdish Devda, Tribal Affairs Minister Kunwar Dr. Vijay Shah, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Mr. Vishwas Sarang, Public Health Engineering Minister Mrs. Sampatiya Uike and Minister of State for Culture Mr. Dharmendra Singh Lodhi attended the meeting virtually in the Vikramotsav-2025 Organizing Committee meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav.
