Uttarayani Fair Return Turns Tragic: ABDO Officer Runs Over Teenagers, Resulting in One Death and Two Injuries

Nainital,: In Nainital, a speeding car ran over three teenage girls who were returning from the Uttarayani fair. Tragically, one of the girls lost her life, while the other two sustained injuries. Reports indicate that the driver was under the influence of alcohol while driving the vehicle. Following the accident, the police have taken the driver into custody. Details of the Incident According to information, 14-year-old Mahi, the daughter of Anand Singh from Nathunagar, was at the fair with her older sister Kanak, 17, and their friend Mamta, 15, the daughter of Jitendra Singh. As they were heading back from the fair, a speeding car coming from the direction of Haldwani struck the girls.

Driver Flees the Scene The three girls were severely injured and rushed to the hospital, where Mahi sadly passed away during treatment. Kanak and Mamta are currently receiving care at a private hospital. Upon receiving the news, the police team arrived at the scene, only to find that the driver had fled after hitting the girls. Driver’s Condition The driver managed to drive about a kilometer before crashing into a hill. After this, the police apprehended him. During the investigation, it was revealed that the driver is an Assistant Block Development Officer from Kotabagh, who was driving under the influence of alcohol.
