Uttarakhand State Foundation Day Celebrated at Raj Bhavan

Bhopal. On the instructions of Governor Mangubhai Patel, Uttarakhand State Foundation Day was celebrated with dignity and grandeur at Raj Bhavan today. Uttarakhand Foundation Day was organized under the “Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat” campaign. In the ceremony, Uttarakhand native citizens of Bhopal presented folk songs, music and dance of Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh’s message, short films of Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh states were also broadcast.

On behalf of Governor Mangubhai Patel, Bhopal residents’ organization president Negi, Suresh Karnat and senior litterateur Hindi worker Kailash Chand Pant were honored. The honor was done by Governor’s Additional Secretary Umashankar Bhargava. They were presented with souvenirs and Chanderi handicraft sample Ang Vastra. At the end of the program, there was also a lunch.

Governor’s Additional Secretary Shri Umashankar Bhargava said that Uttarakhand residents have an important contribution in India’s cultural prosperity and national strength. That is why Uttarakhand is called India’s Dev Bhoomi and Veer Bhoomi. He said that we are all Indians who cherish our specialties. This is our identity. It is the responsibility of all of us to strengthen it.

Hindi activist of Uttarakhand origin, Shri Kailashchand Pant said that organizing the Uttarakhand Foundation Day program in Raj Bhavan is a commendable initiative to strengthen India’s social, cultural and economic relations. He said that the contribution of Uttarakhand residents is unique in all areas like strengthening the political system of the country, upliftment of social system, increase in cultural prosperity and development of journalism etc. He said that Uttarakhand residents, wherever they live outside the state, in the country or abroad, cherish their memories. Their loyalty and hard work are cited as an example. He told that the education system was started in 1942 in the Army Headquarters located in Mhow of the state by Shri Bhola, Shri Khemchand and Shri Vishnu Chand Pant, residents of Uttarakhand. Shri Suresh Karnat and Shri Negi also addressed the function. The program was conducted by Controller Household Raj Bhavan, Smt. Shilpi Diwakar.
