Recently UPI (Unified Payments Interface) services have stopped working in India, causing problems for millions of users. Many major apps like Google Pay, Paytm, and PhonePe are not working at the moment. This problem is being seen most in Delhi-NCR and some other cities.
Cause and effect of the problem – According to Downdetector, the UPI service had stopped working since 12 noon. When people tried to make transactions, the payment failed. This situation has increased the outrage of the people on social media, and everyone is expressing their displeasure against UPI. This is not the first time UPI services have stopped working; a few days ago also similar problems were faced due to technical glitches.
Impact on banking services – Many banking services have also been affected due to the downfall of UPI service. Complaints have also come from banks like SBI, HDFC, and ICICI. In this situation, it is not clear when the services will be normal. UPI is being used everywhere nowadays, be it a tea stall or a big mall, people prefer to use UPI instead of cash.
What to do? – If you are unable to use UPI services, there is no need to panic. You can use other payment options, such as internet banking or debit/credit cards. Hopefully the technical problem will be resolved soon and the services will become normal again.
