Updated schedule of India-Sri Lanka series, Gautam Gambhir's first assignment
An updated schedule of the Indian cricket team’s tour of Sri Lanka has been released. The BCCI released the schedule of the series of three ODIs and as many T20 matches. Earlier it was told that the series would start from July 26, but now the date of July 27 has been fixed.
With this tour, Team India’s new head coach Gautam Gambhir will start his international coaching. Also, this will be the first assignment of former Sri Lankan batsman Sanath Jayasuriya as a coach. According to the new schedule, the first match of the T20 series will be played in Pallekele on July 27 from 7 pm. The ODI series will start in Colombo from August 2.
First T20: July 27, 7 pm, Pallekele
Second T20: July 28, 7 pm, Pallekele
Third T20: July 30, 7 pm, Pallekele
First ODI: August 2, 2.30 pm, Colombo
Second ODI: August 4, 2.30 pm, Colombo
Third ODI: August 7, 2.30 pm, Colombo

Recently, Gautam Gambhir has become the new head coach of the Indian team. This will be his first tour as a coach. He has replaced Rahul Dravid. Rahul’s tenure ended after the T20 World Cup 2024. Gautam Gambhir’s tenure will last till July 2027.
