State-of-the-Art Public Park to be Built at President’s Ashiana in Dehradun
A modern public park is set to be developed over 132 acres at President’s Ashiana complex in Dehradun. The park will be open to the public from June 20, 2025, with President Droupadi Murmu inaugurating it. The detailed project report (DPR) is currently being prepared, and after full development, the park will be dedicated to the people of Uttarakhand in 2026. Apart from the historic building, the complex will feature a visitor facility center, horse riding, an amphitheater, art exhibitions, a cafeteria, a souvenir store, and much more for visitors to explore. President Murmu will lay the foundation stone for this ambitious project on June 20, 2025, at the Rajpur Road-based complex. The plan was announced during a high-level meeting chaired by Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Additional Secretary to the President, along with senior officials from the Uttarakhand government.

Dr. Gupta emphasized that this park will serve as a landmark project with world-class amenities, innovative designs, and eco-friendly features, making it a hub for green spaces, wellness, and cultural activities. He added that this initiative aligns with President Murmu’s vision to enhance civic engagement with the people of Uttarakhand. The project reflects her commitment to participatory governance and community-driven development.
Ensuring Infrastructure and Public Participation
Dr. Gupta urged all concerned departmental officials to ensure timely completion of infrastructure such as roads, electricity, water supply, traffic management, parking, communication networks, security, and public safety measures. He also invited officials to share their suggestions on making the park more public-friendly and instructed that valuable inputs be incorporated into the DPR.
