Union Minister of State and Deputy Chief Minister did Shramdaan in ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ fortnight
Raipur.- Today, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu and Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao did Shramdaan under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ fortnight. Cleaned the Jagannath temple premises located in Gayatri Nagar, Raipur by sweeping and gave a positive message of clean environment to the citizens along with Raipur North MLA Shri Purandar Mishra. Cleaning workers were honored in the program organized on this occasion. The people present in the program were also sworn in to keep their surroundings clean and participate in cleanliness.
Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu said in the program that after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister, there has been amazing awareness towards cleanliness in the whole country. Special campaigns are being conducted every year at the national level by the Government of India to increase public participation in cleanliness work and to make people aware. Its good results are also coming out. Along with the efforts of the government and administration, active public participation is necessary to achieve the goal of complete cleanliness. Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Tokhan Sahu appealed to the city residents to take a pledge to bring Raipur city among the top 5 cities in the cleanliness ranking and participate in the campaign to make the city clean and beautiful.
Addressing the program organized in the Jagannath temple premises under the Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada being run from 17 September to 2 October, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw said that cleanliness has always been a part of our tradition. Cleanliness has always been the priority of great men like Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, Munshi Premchand, and Mrs. Mahadevi Verma. Adopting the principle of Swachhata Parmo Dharma:, we are engaged in making the state clean and beautiful. A special fortnight has been organized in all the cities and villages of the state on the theme of Swabhaav Swachhata Sanskar Swachhata to inspire people towards cleanliness and increase participation. Raipur North MLA Shri Purandar Mishra gave a warm welcome to the guests. Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Raipur, Abinash Mishra, informed about the various positive cleanliness activities done by Raipur Municipal Corporation under Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada.
Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu and Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao provided ESIC Card and PPE Kit to Safai Karmacharis and Swachhata Didi in the program. Raipur District Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, Municipal Corporation Zone 3 Zone Chairman Dr. Pramod Sahu and Councilor Rohit Sahu, along with many dignitaries, social workers, women, youths and officers and employees of Municipal Corporation Raipur were present in large numbers in the program.
