Uninterrupted water will flow in Kshipra from Kanh Close Duct Project and Sevarkhedi-Silarkhedi Project: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Monday inspected the work of Kanh Close Duct Diversion Project under construction for Kshipra purification by descending into the 32 meter deep Shaft-3 under construction tunnel located in village Bamora of Ujjain. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed the officials to pay special attention to the quality of work and time limit. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Kanh Close Duct Diversion Project is very important in view of Simhastha-2028. He said that our resolution of many years will take tangible form with this scheme. With this project, the polluted water of Kanh will not be found on any bank of Kshipra. After purification, the water of Kanh river will be transported to the down-stream of Gambhir river, due to which farmers will also get sufficient water for irrigation.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav interacted with the labourers working in the tunnel and enquired about their well-being
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav went down into the tunnel and interacted with the labourers and got to know about their work style, lifestyle, working hours and their well-being. The labourers, seeing the kindness and sensitive behaviour of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, openly discussed with him. The labourers said that they are contributing to the country by working on a war footing for this project to clean Mata Kshipra. On this, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav appreciated the labourers’ remarkable contribution in nation building and their feeling of patriotism.
Before this, ACS Dr. Rajesh Rajoura informed Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Union Water Power Minister Shri CR Patil, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Minister-in-charge Shri Gautam Tetwal and Municipal Corporation Chairperson Smt. Kalavati Yadav about the progress of work related to the scheme till Monday.
The Bhoomi Pujan of the Kanh Close Duct Project was also done by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav in June 2024. This project will be completed by September 2027. A provision for 15 years of operation and maintenance has been made by the agency working in it. Kshipra river will flow continuously through this. Clean and pure, the polluted water of Kanh river will not be found in it. The total length of the said project will be 30.15 km, which will have a 12 km long tunnel and 18.15 km cut and cover portion.
Kanh Diversion Close Duct Project is under construction, in which excavation and PCC work is in progress in the cut and cover part, vertical and horizontal excavation work through four shafts in the tunnel part and casting of pre-cast segments in the casting yard. Excavation and PCC work is in progress in the initial 6.90 km cut and cover part of the project. Casting work of pre-cast segments to be used under the project is going on in the casting yard located in village Gangedi. The work of transporting the pre-cast segments from the casting yard to the alignment of the project and placing them on the PCC bed and joining them will start soon.
Under the tunnel part of the project, four shafts are located in villages Palkhedi, Chintaman Jawasia, Bamora and Devrakhedi respectively. Vertical excavation work is in progress in shaft number 01 and 02 and vertical excavation has been completed in shaft number 03 and 04 and horizontal excavation work is in progress.
Mayor Mr. Mukesh Tatwal, Mr. Ravi Solanki, Divisional Commissioner Mr. Sanjay Gupta, ADGP Mr. Umesh Joga, DIG Mr. Navneet Bhasin, Collector Mr. Neeraj Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police Mr. Pradeep Sharma and other public representatives were present.
