UNFPA State Head Jacob made a courtesy visit to Deputy Chief Minister Shukla

Bhopal: State Head of Office of United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Mr. Sunil Thomas Jacob paid a courtesy visit to Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Rajendra Shukla at the Secretariat. Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Shukla said that improving maternal and child health is among the priorities of the state government. He talked about taking necessary action on the observations and suggestions presented by the institute. He discussed the quality of health services, availability of trained manpower and strengthening public awareness campaigns. In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on the efforts being made by the institute to promote modern methods of family planning in the state, control infant mortality rate (IMR) and maternal mortality rate (MMR) and the observations received. Mr. Jacob shared information about UNFPA’s ongoing activities in Madhya Pradesh, programs, their results and challenges being faced at the regional level.
